Are you sure this is gluten free? It’s so delicious!

Gluten free food gets a bad rap sometimes.

The problem is that making a good gluten free dough, pastry or bread that doesn’t taste funny or have a strange texture is a big challenge. When I was first diagnosed with Celiac disease, I was not happy with some of the gluten free options I found.

I’m proud that I was able to create a delicious dough for gluten free perogies (it just took countless hours over two years and determination to get it right!).

Those of us who must observe a gluten free diet for health reasons can’t have the protein gluten, which is found in wheat, rye, and barley. It’s also what gives dough that lovely elasticity.

When people try our signature perogies, or our gluten free take-&-bake pizzas, they’re often amazed. I get reactions like: There’s no way that’s gluten free! That tastes so good! Are you sure this is gluten free?

But then, there are always folks who are reluctant to try something that is gluten-free.

As a foodie, that reaction confuses me because trying new food is always fun. It’s just one bite! Plus, I know that people who try Amanda Lynn products usually agree that our food tastes just a little bit better than other food!

Aside from that, though, the ingredients of many things we eat are naturally gluten free anyway.

Blueberries? Gluten free.

Cabbage? Gluten free.

Potatoes? Gluten free.

Onions? Gluten free.

Dill? Gluten free.

Red or green peppers? Gluten free.

Mushrooms? Gluten free.

Tomatoes? Gluten free.

Lemons? Gluten free.

If you’re a meat eater, that steak, bacon, or chicken is — you guessed it — gluten free.

If you know someone who won’t try anything that happens to be gluten free, try listing off all the things they already eat and enjoy that don’t have gluten! (Or, get them to taste some of our yummy products, like our hearty Beet Borsch or delectable Lemon Slice Dessert and don’t mention that it’s gluten free until after they’re done!)
